The Call to Prayer

Be joyful in the LORD, all you lands;* serve the LORD with gladness and come before his presence with a song.
Psalm 110:1

The Request for Presence

I have said to the LORD, "You are my God;* listen, O LORD, to my supplication."
Psalm 140:6

The Greeting

Whom have I in heaven but you?* and having you I desire nothing upon earth.
Psalm 73:25

The Refrain for the Morning Lessons

The LORD has sworn and he will not recant:* "You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."
Psalm 110:4

A Reading

And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven: there at the right hand of God he took his place, while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that accompanied it.
Mark 16:19-20

The Refrain

The LORD has sworn and he will not recant:* "You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."

The Morning Psalm

May All the Nations Call Him Blessed

Long may he live! And may there be given to him gold from Arabia;* may prayer be made for him always, and may they bless him all the day long. May there be abundance of grain on the earth, growing thick even on the hilltops;* may its fruit flourish like Lebanon, and its grain like grass upon the earth. May his Name remain for ever and be established as long as the sun endures;* may all the nations bless themselves in him and call him blessed.
Psalm 72:15-17

The Refrain

The LORD has sworn and he will not recant:* "You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."

The Cry of the Church

Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your Name. May your kingdom come, and your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours are the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

The Prayer Appointed for the Week

O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon all your faithful people your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Concluding Prayer of the Church

Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me in safety to this new day: Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do direct me to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
